Lake Elmo Park, Minneapolis

June 10, 2018
Mileage 51743

Left Nelsons Landing and Wabasha at 10 am and drove the Great River road north to Lake Elmo Reserve park. This was a very scenic drive along the river. We debated on stopping at Laura Ingalls Wilder home but didn't know parking arrangements. We did stop at the Maiden Head rock where legend says the Indian maid jumped to her death to prevent a marriage to an unwanted suitor. We are staying 2 nights at this park as we tour Minneapolis. This park has great bike trails and hiking trails along with a swimming pool, After setting up camp we drove into the Mall of America and shopped and toured. We had supper at Bubba Gumps restaurant in the mall it was a little pricey but we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Next day Monday we wanted to tour Fort Stephens but found it closed. We then went to Minnehaha falls park, this was a beautiful  area in the heart of Minneapolis and we enjoyed the falls and the park. Found out most tourist adventures are closed on Monday in Minneapolis. We did stop at Duluth trading store and I purchased a pair of cargo pants. Returned to RV and played cards and relaxed.
