Kentucky Fiber Festival

Sherry and I are in Lexington Kentucky enjoying cool weather and seeing the Kentucky Horse Park and staying at the Horse Park Campground. This was an excellent choice. It is a beautiful campground and spaces are large. We traveled on Friday evening to downtown Lexington and if you have not been downtown you will love the old homes. We went to Billy's Bar-B-Q for supper. It wouldn't get my recommendation. The article we read in the visitors guide recommended the fried "dill"ckles and they were good and served with a horseradish sauce. The half rack of ribs Sherry had were excellent but sadly the cheesy grits and black eyed peas were cold and didn't do much for the palate. Lexington has lots of board and stone fencing we passed miles of it on Newtown Pike on the way to Billy's Bar-B-Q restaurant.

Saturday we went to Masterson Station Park to the Kentucky Fiber Festival and saw lots of wool, spinning and weaving booths including a display of all things made with Buffalo leather and fur. Some farms brought many different breeds of sheep for us to see.The weather was cool about 40 degrees this morning but the sun kept peeking between the clouds and warming me when I was able to get out of the wind behind  a building. The highlight for me was when a lady asked what brings you out here today? I told her my wife. She laughed!
