Mileage 52915
Devils Tower,
Greybull Wyoming
Left Rafter J Bar campground at 7:30
heading toward Devils Tower. When we arrived at the entrance we were told where
to park the rig and to disconnect the Jeep and to use it to travel up to the Visitor
center. After touring the visitor center and acquiring our walking stick medallions
we walked up to the base of Devils Tower and as the weather was still cloudy
and misting we didn’t take the loop trail around the tower. We found the
formation unique and took lots of pictures.
We then
toured the campground at the lower level where the RV was parked and we could
have spent the night here but it was still early and we decided to travel on
toward Yellowstone.
When we got
back on I-90 we departed at Sheridan and took Hwy 14 toward Cody, WY. This road
has lots of curves and steep grades. We disconnected the Jeep again after
struggling to the top of one of the grades. Sherry followed me as we journeyed
toward Greybull the sights were beautiful. We saw snow on the mountain tops and
the valleys were breathtaking. We spotted several deer in the valleys.
We
camped this night in Greybull at Campbell’s Green Oasis campground. We visited
with neighbors and enjoyed our night in Greybull.
