Glendale Reservoir
This is a small
Fish and Wildlife area in southern Indiana. We have camped here for a long
time. Jay’s family were traveling here to fish in the 1960’s and it was a great
place to catch bluegills. Sherry and I used to tent camp here and fish. We
would typically travel here in late April. Then we could fish and hunt Morel
mushrooms the same trip. There is no better eating than a fried mushrooms and
bluegills. We have lots of good memories of doing both and so we planned a trip
to go fishing.
Since I have never towed two items at the same time I am very
reluctant to try this configuration. The 32 foot RV and the 15 foot Jeep with a
14 foot boat and trailer. Sounds scary to me. So Sherry drove the RV while I led
with the Jeep and boat in tow. We stayed
three nights in the campground at the reservoir and while the fishing proved
tough we did catch a few bluegills. They have made several improvements to the
campground since our last visit. Sites have been paved, camp host added which
provides security as well as a bait shop. This campground is a real gem for
fishermen and several were here this trip.
We
reacquainted ourselves with the area and journeyed to Washington the closest
town. Another close town is Jasper, this is the first place we encountered
Walmart. Wish we would have bought stock at that time.
